DESCRIPTION: Antique long guns - Unsigned Percussion Schuetzen Rifle, .34 caliber, German silver trigger guard with fabulous scroll hand engraving and double set hair trigger, case hardened lock plate and hammer are a dull gray with fabulous floral hand engraving and the image of a very happy shooter, case hardened and florally engraved percussion bolster, case hardened and florally engraved tang with inlaid engraved man in silver, American walnut stock with fine checkering and a large cheek rest set with a German silver star, German silver crescent moon butt, 31 inch octagonal barrel drilled for false muzzle, globe style front sight with flat-top rear and an adjustable rear diopter sight. A great example of an American made Schuetzen rifle, these were originally used in the aforementioned Schuetzen matches which typically were 200 yards and used specialized targets. This rifle was made to perfectly fit the original shooter's dimensions and as such, the original owner was likely the only person who could fire this accurately. Rifle measures 48 inches in length and weighs approximately 10 pounds. Includes soft gun sock.
CONDITION: Good action, double set triggers function properly; excellent overall cosmetic condition, bright fine bore with hardly any oxidation, metal surfaces have aged to a pleasing dull gray, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about walnut stock, excellent rear and front sight show hardly any oxide; trigger guard shows little wear.
